PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

One of the four topics of ESPCI 2023 is Novel implants, therapies and fitting. We are very excited to introduce two of the invited session speakers on this topic to you.

Tobias Moser

We are very happy to announce that prof. dr. Tobias Moser is joining us at ESPCI2023. He is a neuroscientist, otologist, and audiologist at the Göttingen Campus in Germany. He will lead the session and talk about the very exciting topic: Towards the optical cochlear implant: optogenetic stimulation of the auditory pathway.

All invited session speakers have the opportunity to introduce co-speakers to their session. Dr. Bettina Wolf and dr. Antoine Huet will talk about the innovative optic stimulation of the cochlear nerve during this session.

Erwin van Wijk

Dr. Erwin van Wijk is Associate Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, The Netherlands). He is head of the Usher Syndrome & Hereditary Hearing Loss Therapeutics Research Unit and will lead a session about The road towards genetic therapies for otogenetic disorders.

Dr. Cris Lanting and dr. Aziz El-Amraoui will join Erwin in the session and talk about deep-phenotyping of hearing loss and corrective gene replacement therapies.
