Hearing and the developing brain is one of our four main topics. Proudly we introduce two inspiring session speakers of this interesting theme.

Leen Maes

Dr. Leen Maes is an audiologist and associate professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Ghent University and scientific employee at the ENT Department of the University Hospital Ghent. She is specialized in vestibular assessment techniques in children and adults. 

We are proud that she joins us at the ESPCI2023 to talk about Vestibular function in children with hearing loss.

Prof. dr. Ingeborg Dhooge and Ruth van Hecke will join this session. Specific topics will be revealed soon.

Anu Sharma

Prof. dr. Anu Sharma, professor in the department of speech language and hearing science and fellow at the Institute for Cognitive science and Center for Neuroscience at the University of Colorado, USA, will be invited session speaker at ESPCI2023. We are very excited about the topic of her talk: Cross-modal neuroplasticity in deafness and cochlear implantation.

Prof. Andrej Kral will also join this session.
